Program Overview: The Mary Parker Youth Tech & Creativity Innovation Hub is an immersive, hands-on training program that empowers young minds to explore the latest technologies while fostering creativity. Combining gaming, coding, robotics, drones, DJing, podcasting, and 3D printing & modeling, this program offers an engaging, multidisciplinary approach to learning. Participants will develop valuable technical and creative skills, collaborate on exciting projects, and bring their ideas to life in a fun, supportive environment.
Key Areas of Focus:
Gaming: Dive into the world of game design and development. Learn about game mechanics, interactive storytelling, and coding for gaming platforms. Participants will design and prototype their own simple games, integrating logic, design, and creativity.
Coding: Master the fundamentals of coding through interactive projects in popular programming languages like Python, JavaScript, and Scratch. Students will learn to write code, debug errors, and develop software applications, empowering them to create digital solutions and games.
Robotics: Build and program robots using accessible platforms like Arduino and LEGO Mindstorms. Learn about sensors, actuators, and control systems, and work on exciting projects that bring robots to life with autonomous behavior.
Drones: Explore the world of drones by learning how to fly and control them, understand their mechanics, and apply drone technology in fields such as photography, videography, and delivery systems. Participants will also learn the basics of drone programming and autonomous flight.
DJing: Experience the world of DJing by learning how to mix tracks, create beats, and manipulate sound. This segment covers the basics of sound systems, music production, and live performance, giving students the tools to create their own DJ sets.
Podcasting: Learn to create, record, and produce professional podcasts. From conceptualizing a show to editing audio and publishing episodes, participants will gain hands-on experience in content creation, audio editing, and broadcasting.
3D Printing & Modeling: Understand the principles of 3D design and printing. Participants will use industry-standard 3D modeling software to create digital prototypes, and then bring their creations to life using a 3D printer, gaining insight into design, engineering, and fabrication.
